Bridge demolition and dismantling

Safe and speedy bridge demolition using blasting. It is expected to shorten construction time, reduce costs, and improve safety.

The removal of aging bridges (superstructures, piers, abutments) is always accompanied by many challenges, such as the difficulty of mechanical demolition. The blasting technology that our company has refined over more than half a century allows us to use the minimum necessary amount of explosives through meticulous blasting design, enabling a rapid collapse and fall from a structurally stable state, thus facilitating a safe mechanical demolition process on the ground. In addition to blasting, we offer many demolition methods that can adapt to various situations at each site. Bridges that have long contributed to regional development and people's interactions are filled with many memories. Please entrust us with the final moments of these cherished bridges. 【Features】 ■ Elimination of the need for large-scale scaffolding, leading to reduced construction time and cost savings. ■ Significant reduction in high-altitude work that poses risks of falling. ■ Reduction of approaches to bridges at risk of aging or collapse. ■ Reduction of load stress acting on the bridge during demolition work. ■ Greatly improved safety. ■ Capability to accommodate various bridge structures. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Bridge Demolition Case Study: Upper Structure of the Shinkawajiri Bridge (Old Bridge)

Bridge demolition using blasting. It significantly reduces dangerous tasks such as high-altitude work and the rigging of heavy objects.

A bridge spanning National Route 417 in Ibi River Town, Ibi District, Gifu Prefecture. With the opening of a bypass due to the development of new tunnels and bridges, the Shinkawajiri Bridge (the old bridge), built in 1961, has completed its 60-year service and was dismantled using blasting methods. - Structure: Steel Langer Bridge - Bridge Length: 136.7 m - Width: 5.5 m - Weight: 223 tons On both sides of the bridge, steel components were cut using V-shaped blasting lines and dropped directly onto a work platform created on the riverbed of the Ibi River, facilitating safe mechanical dismantling on the ground. [Features] - Elimination of the need for large-scale scaffolding, leading to reduced construction time and cost savings. - Significant reduction in high-altitude work that poses risks of falling. - Major reduction in hazardous work associated with lifting heavy objects. - No special equipment required due to gravity-based dropping. - The shape after dropping is relatively stable, allowing for smooth subsequent mechanical dismantling. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
